The Short Version
Your app data stays on your device by default. We do not sell your data or use third-party tracking SDKs in the iOS app. This website offers optional analytics, described below.
Overview
SilentProof helps users document recurring noise incidents with reference sound levels, audio recordings, incident notes, and exported records. Privacy is a core product principle.
Data Collection
The app processes microphone recordings, reference sound levels, location details, timestamps, and record metadata on your device.
By default, data remains local unless you explicitly share an exported record or recording.
Third-Party Services
The SilentProof iOS app does not use ad networks or third-party analytics SDKs.
The app uses platform services needed for purchases, optional location context, and review prompts:
- Apple StoreKit (in-app purchases)
- Apple location and geocoding services (optional place context and address lookup)
- Apple App Store in-app review interfaces
Apple may process purchase, account, location, device, and diagnostics information under its own privacy policy. SilentProof does not receive your payment-card details.
Permissions Required
SilentProof requests the minimum required permissions:
- Microphone: capture reference sound levels and optional audio recordings
- Location: add place context to where the disturbance occurred
These permissions are used when you actively start incident capture or recording. Optional location context is captured while you are using the feature; SilentProof does not continuously track your location.
Data Sharing
Sharing is user-initiated. You may choose to export PDF records, share audio, or send complaint materials through the system share interface on iPhone or iPad.
Website Visits and Optional Analytics
This website loads Microsoft Clarity only after you choose “Allow analytics.” Clarity uses cookies and records website interactions such as clicks, scrolling, page visits, and device/browser information to help us improve the site through heatmaps and session recordings. Advertising storage consent remains denied. We do not send your in-app recordings, incident notes, or exported reports to Clarity.
You can decline or withdraw through “Website analytics settings” in the footer. Withdrawal reloads the page to stop the recorder. We remember your choice in this browser for up to 180 days. Clarity processes website usage data underMicrosoft’s Privacy Statement. Sensitive text is masked; do not include personal incident details in website URLs.
Our hosting provider may process standard request information, such as IP address, browser details, requested URL, and security signals, to deliver and protect the site.
Data Retention
Your recordings, notes, and records remain available until you delete them. Uninstalling removes app-container data, but free-export usage stored in Keychain may remain. Deleting records does not reset free-export usage or erase Apple purchase history. System backups and exported copies may persist separately and are controlled by your backup settings or the destination where you choose to save or send them.
Children's Privacy
This companion website is intended for adults documenting real-world noise disturbances and is not directed at users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through external tracking systems.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy, the "Last updated" date will be revised and the new text will ship with app and website updates.
